It's the first time I make strawberry jam. I had no idea of ​​any particular recipe, so a "search" on Google I thought would help me…. I found a lot of options and I did not know which to decide, so that I made two types of jam or jam, that in the end I still did not clearly understand the difference between them. :)) What I wanted was not to be very sweet, but to be tasty.

The first option that will come out a little darker in color:

  • 1 kg of strawberries (or strawberries, because even here I don't know which is the correct option :)))
  • 750 gr sugar

The second option:

  • 1 kg of strawberries
  • 500-600 gr sugar (it also depends on how sweet the strawberries are)
  • 1 lemon (cut into half slices and use the juice from half)

In both variants

1. Wash and peel the strawberries.

2. Drain them in a strainer.

3. Put the strawberries in a non-stick pot (I used a stainless steel one with a double bottom) and add the sugar, slices and lemon juice. (For the version with lemon)

4. Leave it in the fridge for an hour (you can skip this step)

5. Put the pot on a very low heat for ~ 90 minutes, stirring occasionally to make sure it doesn't stick.

6. Take the foam when it forms (if the fire is high it will make more foam) The jam is ready when it has a gelatinous consistency or you can check it by the drop test. dry, if the drops remain whole and do not spread on the plate it means that the jam is ready)

7. Put the hot jam in well-washed and sterilized jars.

8. Close the jars tightly, then turn them upside down for 15 minutes.

After tasting both options, I decided that the one with lemon is preferred. Sweet, sour and with a much more beautiful color.
